Safety Symposium: Building safety seems to be on the minds of many. On Monday and Tuesday, the Orange County chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Assn. (BOMA) will co-sponsor a symposium on reducing safety risks in offices. The conference will feature seminars by industry experts on fire hazards in high-rises, terrorism and earthquake effects on commercial buildings.

Other sponsors of the program, at the Red Lion Inn in Costa Mesa, include the Costa Mesa Fire Department and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Classes will be geared toward safety professionals, building owners and managers, architects and engineers. The registration fee is $245.
