A Los Angeles man has been convicted by an Ohio jury of murdering four members of his girlfriend’s family.

Jose Trinidad Loza, 19, showed no emotion Thursday as a Butler County Common Pleas jury found him guilty of four counts of aggravated murder with death penalty specifications. He was charged in the deaths of Dorothy Jackson’s family in their Middletown, Ohio, home last January. Jackson, who is the mother of Loza’s child, remains in jail as a material witness for the prosecution. She was acquitted several weeks ago of charges of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.

Loza was charged with the deaths of Georgia Davis, 46, Jackson’s mother, and three of Davis’ children: Gary Mullins, 20; Cheryl Senteno, 25, and Jerri Jackson, 17. All had been shot in the head as they slept. The jury is scheduled to return Wednesday to decide whether to recommend the death penalty.
