Construction Work Closes Freeway Ramp
The southbound on-ramp to the Antelope Valley Freeway at Sand Canyon and Soledad Canyon roads in Santa Clarita will be closed weekdays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. beginning today for construction work.
The heavily traveled on-ramp will remain closed during those hours Monday through Friday until Nov. 27, California Department of Transportation spokeswoman Margie Tiritilli said. The ramp will not be closed on weekends.
Tiritilli said the purpose of the closure is to continue widening the road between the freeway’s Sand Canyon Road overpass and the Lost Canyon Road underpass. Estimated completion of the $812,000 project is early spring.
