A fire broke out at a Huntington Park furniture factory early Wednesday morning, causing $400,000 in damage but no injuries, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman said.

The fire started shortly after 1 a.m. in an outdoor storage area of Aleco Furniture Manufacturing, 6115 Maywood Ave., and spread to the rear of the factory, fire inspector Brian Jordan said. About 50 firefighters extinguished it by 2 a.m.

The blaze caused $100,000 in damage to the factory’s building and $300,000 damage to contents, Jordan said. An Aleco spokeswoman said the fire had shut down manufacturing operations. She did not know when they would resume.
