PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Zendejas Just Kicks Perfectly Along
Tony Zendejas of the Rams, the NFL’s only perfect kicker, says he recognizes the coincidence that his replacement with the Houston Oilers was released before Zendejas has missed a field goal.
“It was just unfortunate that he struggled a little bit,” Zendejas said of Ian Howfield, who won the kicking job at Houston after Zendejas was left unprotected and signed with the Rams.
“I’m in touch with a couple guys, good friends of mine, and they tell me (the Oilers) have been taking a little bit of heat (for letting Zendejas go). But everybody makes decisions. Sometimes they turn out worse than they expected.”
Flipper Anderson is expected to start this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs at Anaheim Stadium. . . . The Rams dropped offensive lineman James Richards from their practice squad and re-signed tackle Neal Fort.
