FILLMORE : School Employees to Get One-Time Bonus
Fillmore Unified School District employees, who are in their second year without cost-of-living pay increases, will receive a little relief with a one-time 4.41% bonus approved this week by the district board of trustees.
For most district personnel, the bonus, based on their annual salary, will fill the gap between what the district pays for health benefits and the rising cost of medical premiums. Teachers and administrators will have money left over from premiums for a 1% or 2% Christmas bonus.
Without the bonus, workers would have had to pay part of their medical benefit costs for the first time in district history, Kernen said.
