Jason Moler of Cal State Fullerton hit a home run, and the winning pitcher was Matt Luke, an El Dorado High graduate who is a junior at California, as the West defeated the North, 5-4, as the U.S. Olympic Baseball Trials concluded Saturday at Homestead, Fla.

The 88 players who participated in the trials will be notified in April or May on whether they will be among the 40 invited to a June training camp, with 20 selected for the Olympic team.

Moler’s homer, his second in the West’s four games, came with two outs in the top of the first. Moler was two for four Saturday and five for 14 in the tournament for a .357 average.
