To Kill a Movie

KTLA’s recent presentation of the film classic “To Kill a Mockingbird” (Oct. 21) was one of the grossest displays of editing I have ever seen. This is one of the great American films, and it was butchered on commercial television. Why do TV stations, particularly local ones, insist on defiling the few truly exceptional movies that they air? Are one or two more commercials worth destroying such a beautiful story?
