MISSION VIEJO : Cable Firm Extends Broadcast Contract

Share

The city’s cable company has extended its contract to televise City Council meetings through the remainder of the fiscal year.

The city will pay the Communications Support Group an extra $19,325 to continue the broadcasts until June, the council decided recently. The meetings appear live on a local access channel.

The extra time will allow the city to further assess whether cable production should be handled with city staff or contracted out to a private firm, which is the current policy. The city began televising council meetings last summer.

A staff review of the cable broadcasts praised Communications Support Group for delivering high-quality broadcasts and keeping costs under budget.
