Share

Cal State Northridge will begin offering a four-year nursing program in the fall of 1992, university officials said.

The program, recently approved by the California State University system chancellor’s office, will lead to a bachelor of science degree, said Brian Malac, chairman of the health science department.

Malac said the program is designed for students entering CSUN as juniors from community colleges, and for registered nurses who want to continue their education.

The program is in demand among the two-year community colleges in CSUN’s service area, Malac said. Antelope Valley, Glendale, Valley, Moorpark, Pasadena, Santa Monica and Ventura colleges and College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita offer associate in arts degrees in nursing, he said.

Enrollment is being taken for the fall, Malac said.
