COUNTYWIDE : Toys for Tots Drive Seeking Donations
Local Marines have begun their annual Toys for Tots campaign for the 1991 Christmas season.
Businesses are being asked to support the effort by running toy drives among their employees or by making corporate donations. Toys should be new and unwrapped with a minimum value of $5.
The Toys for Tots campaign is headed by the Marine Corps Reserve at Port Hueneme and Ventura County Detachment 597. It began in 1948 in Los Angeles and has since grown to a nationwide effort that collects more than 8 million toys annually.
Businesses interested in donating toys may call 982-4345 in Ventura County; 648-5111 in Ventura; 523-9523 in Moorpark; or 526-5360 in Simi Valley.
