Hart Gone: Though his boss is saying he’s on vacation, TV newsman John Hart apparently has quit the Discovery Channel’s “World Monitor.” Hart, 59, left his bosses a brief note at the end of last week saying his program “is launched and is three years old and I don’t believe there’s anything more I can do.” However, on Monday, Netty Douglass, president of Boston-based Monitor Television Inc., said, “It is our hope that he will return to the program, but at the present time he’s on vacation.” For now, Peter Kent is replacing Hart, whose contract expires in March.
