Political Donations

Share

Having read your article (Nov. 3) about donations from developers and related businesses to Orange County supervisors and board candidates, I would like to make the following comment: In most countries in the world, donating money to government officials would be considered a bribe and consequently this is then translated into corruption. In this country all this seems to be completely legal and accepted.

These so-called politicians say that “the decisions to support those projects and issues were made not because of political contributions but because they would benefit Orange County residents.” Yeah right. Giving out all those building permits have caused gridlocked freeways, overburdened hospitals and schools, and a gigantic increase in a crime rate due to the explosive population increase. America, wake up. Let’s vote that bunch of corrupt fools out of office and replace them with honest people who are willing to make some difficult decisions so we can live again like normal human beings.
