CAMARILLO : School Board to Question Candidates
Camarillo’s Pleasant Valley school board will hold a special meeting Thursday to interview 10 candidates who have applied for a vacant seat on the five-member board.
The meeting, which will be open to the public, will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Room 7 at El Rancho Structured School at 550 Temple Ave., district spokeswoman Gloria Nowlin said.
“They hope to make the decision and appoint at this open meeting,” Nowlin said.
The board is required to fill the seat by Nov. 28, which will be 60 days after former Trustee Maria Tejada resigned.
The 10 candidates applied after the board announced that it would appoint a replacement for Tejada rather than hold a special election.
The candidate chosen by the board will serve until November, 1992, when Tejada’s term would have expired.
