Ex-POW to Run for Senate

SPOKANE, Wash. — State Sen. Leo Thorsness, a Medal of Honor winner who spent six years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, announced Monday that he will seek the Republican nomination for the seat held by Democratic U.S. Sen. Brock Adams. Thorsness, 59, said he will stress economic growth and reforms of Congress, campaigns, welfare and education.
