FOR A SMALL FEE. . . . : It’s touted as “Pebble Beach South,” but unlike the Carmel Bay golf course, this one is totally public. The much ballyhooed Pelican Hill Golf Club, straddling Coast Highway a mile south of Corona del Mar, opens this Sunday. The 6,647-yard, 18-hole Tom Fazio layout is long, tough, breathtakingly beautiful and expensive. Green fees are $95 weekdays, $125 for the three-day weekend, the highest for any public course in the county.
