Chevron Suit Put on Hold: A lawsuit by Chevron Corp. and its partners against Santa Barbara County was put on hold in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles until a state court has a chance to decide on some of the issues involved, Chevron spokesman G. Michael Marcy said. The suit seeks $100,000 a day in damages, an injunction against the county and a permit. Marcy said Chevron would file a complaint in Santa Barbara Superior Court within 10 days.
