Geraldine Ferraro to Enter Senate Race in New York

NEW YORK — Geraldine A. Ferraro, who ran for vice president in 1984, said Thursday that she will seek the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican Sen. Alfonse M. D’Amato in 1992. Other Democrats who plan to run include state Atty. Gen. Robert Abrams and New York City Comptroller Elizabeth Holtzman. The primary will be in September.
