San Diego
In the first step toward a possible 1992 race for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, San Diego City Councilwoman Judy McCarty filed papers Friday indicating her intention to seek the supervisorial seat now held by Susan Golding.
The papers, filed with the state Fair Political Practices Commission, are a formality that must precede a candidate’s fund-raising effort for a particular office.
McCarty, who has served on the City Council since 1985, is expected to make a formal announcement about her candidacy within the next several weeks, adviser John Kern said.
Golding, in the final year of her second four-year supervisorial term, is expected to vacate the 3rd District seat next year to run for mayor of San Diego.
