Temple City : 45-Day Building Ban OKd
The City Council on Tuesday approved a 45-day moratorium on new construction downtown while city staff plans how to revitalize the area.
The moratorium, adopted as an urgency ordinance, takes effect immediately, and may be extended 10 1/2 months at the end of the initial 45 days.
The measure applies to the area roughly along Las Tunas Drive from Rowland Avenue to Sultana Avenue.
Robert Dawson, community development director, said it is designed to prevent construction that is out of character with the revitalization plans that will be established by the city during the moratorium period.
