A 17-year-old Fillmore youth was arrested early Sunday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old man, who was found wounded outside a condominium complex in Moorpark on Saturday evening, authorities said.

The male suspect, whose name was not released, was booked into Ventura County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder. The name of the victim, who apparently lived outside the county, was withheld pending notification of relatives, authorities said.

Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Mike Barnes said witnesses saw the youth and the man arguing in a parking lot of the Park Springs Condominiums on North Spring Road shortly after 6 p.m. and called police.

The victim--who was found stabbed in the back, stomach and chest--was transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where he died about two hours later, authorities said.

Barnes said the incident was not gang-related, but he declined to say what prompted the fight. He said detectives worked through the night to find information about the youth, who fled the scene.

They received a tip that the suspect was sleeping at a friend’s house in Moorpark, Barnes said. Sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect there about 3:50 a.m.

Barnes said Sunday that the investigation is continuing.
