LIGHTING UP: Hanukkah is not the biggest Jewish holiday, but its symbolic candelabrum is a very big deal in Irvine. . . . At South Coast Chabad Center, the candelabrum, called a menorah, is a wooden structure 20 feet tall with eight torches at its top. The first will be lit Sunday, the last during a ceremony the evening of Dec. 8. . . . There are 40-foot menorahs in New York, “so we still have a way to go,” said Rabbi Alter Tenenbaum, above.
