GASP, WHEEZE: The Times Orange County Holiday Parade in Santa Ana on Dec. 7 will have scores of floats, bands and gigantic balloons, but it wasn’t always so grand. . . . In 1925, The Times staged a one-man parade: Santa-suited Ook Wat driving a sleigh with six reindeer through downtown Santa Ana. It was called off early when the 67-degree heat exhausted the reindeer after eight blocks.
