Shopping at the many local arts and crafts fairs is a fun way of finding one-of-a-kind items. Here’s a listing of some of the upcoming fairs in the area.

Nov. 29--Dec. 1, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Holiday Shopping--Country Style. Featuring 130 arts and crafts people, entertainment, barbecue, Santa. Bates Nut Farm, Valley Center, 749-3388.

Nov. 29--Dec. 1, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.. Unusual gift items and handmade ornaments at the Christmas Craft Show, Julian Town Hall, 2129 Main St., Julian, 765-1857.

Nov. 30, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Vista Community Center, 160 Recreation Drive. Handcrafted quilts, angels, coin jewelry, food, baked goods and art work will be sold. Admission is free.

Dec. 1, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. MiraCosta College, San Elijo Campus, 3333 Manchester Ave., Cardiff. The community college’s the 13th annual Christmas Faire showcases more than 50 artisans selling everything from baby quilts to wood carvings. Concert at 4 p.m., 944-4449.

Dec. 6, 7, 8, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. The fifth annual Holiday Faire at the Del Mar Fairgrounds offers holiday foods, crafts, gifts and entertainment. Adults $3, $2 seniors, $1 children ages 6 to 12, under 6, free, 755-1161.

Dec. 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Midland Road between Edgemore and Adrian streets, Poway. The Poway Chamber of Commerce sponsors this holiday street fair with shopping and entertainment.

Dec. 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Carmel Valley Artists’ 28th Annual Christmas Sale. Twenty-one artisans selling gallery-quality ceramics, sculptured art glass, rugs, throws, beaded leather purses and handmade jackets and more, 755-4037.

Dec. 8, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Cut and Dried Hardwood, 143 S. Cedros Ave., Solana Beach. The sixth annual holiday Woodcraft Show and Sale showcases local woodworkers and artisans. Admission is free.

Dec. 15, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., San Marcos Christmas Street Fair. Due to lack of parking, the 8-year-old Encinitas Street Fair has moved to Old California Restaurant Row in San Marcos. Santa’s Village, food, entertainment and more than 300 artisans will be featured, 591-3769.
