Installation ceremonies for Ted Cole will take place Sunday at South Shores Church of Monarch Beach as he becomes senior pastor.
He was pastor for 28 years at the First Baptist Church of Pomona during which it became the largest American Baptist Church in the country. After that he started a new church in Lake Arrowhead called the Church of the Woods.
His parents started South Shores Church, which evolved from a Bible Study group in their Laguna Beach home. His brother, Donald W. Cole, was pastor there from 1973 to 1990.
The ceremony is at 4 p.m. at the church, 32712 Crown Valley Parkway, Monarch Beach. Information: (714) 496-9331.
