THOUSAND OAKS : Bank Robber May Be Tied to Earlier Theft

Share

A man who robbed a Thousand Oaks branch of Bank of America on Tuesday may have been the same person who robbed another Thousand Oaks bank a week earlier, authorities said.

The lone robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to police and FBI reports, a man entered the bank at 223 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. about 1 p.m. and handed a note demanding money to a teller. He told the teller that he had a gun.

“He continued to threaten the teller as the robbery progressed,” FBI Special Agent Larry Dick said.

The man was last seen on foot in the bank’s rear parking lot. No vehicle or weapon was seen, authorities said.

Descriptions of the robber have led investigators to suspect that he may be the same man who held up a branch of First Interstate Bank in Thousand Oaks on Nov. 25, the FBI said.
