Cleanup Costs
Your article “Pentagon Pays Companies for Toxic Removal” (Nov. 10) failed to make the following point: Cleanup costs as an overhead item increase contractor’s profits. This is so because profit is calculated as a percentage of cost, i.e., the greater the contamination, the greater the cleanup cost, the greater the profits.
