Million Dogs Killed in Chinese Province

BEIJING — A million dogs have been killed in one southern China province in the last three years, most of them bludgeoned to death in a campaign against rabies.
The China News Digest reported that squads of dog-killers have been hard at work in Guangdong province bordering the British colony of Hong Kong and that dogs have become virtually unknown in the area’s towns and cities.
