Noisy Dog Leads Owner to Injured Neighbor
A dog’s insistent barking has been credited with saving the life of an elderly woman who broke her hip after stumbling on outdoor steps.
Temperatures in the teens also triggered the 74-year-old woman’s asthma, her daughter, Cecilia Korrea, said Wednesday. Doctors said she probably would not have survived 30 minutes longer.
The mother, who was reported in good condition after surgery, asked that her name not be released.
The dog, an English springer spaniel named Cammile, ignored calls for silence Tuesday night, prompting owner Jack Reynolds to go outside to get the dog. Reynolds found Cammile next door, standing over the woman and barking.
