Officer Jumps From 2nd Story to Escape Gunmen
A Glendale police detective jumped from the second-story of a parking structure to escape from four gunmen who he said stole his car after trying to force him into the vehicle’s trunk, authorities reported Friday.
David A. O’Connor, 50, a fraud investigator, suffered a cut on the forehead and bruises in the fall Thursday evening, Glendale Police Sgt. Peter Michael said. The incident happened in a shopping center parking structure at Wilson Avenue and Isabel Street, across from the police station. Michael said the robbers apparently were not aware that he is a police officer.
