Lawyer Reappointed to Judicial Panel

Attorney Edwin Marzec has been reappointed by Supervisor Deane Dana to serve on the Los Angeles County Commission on Judicial Procedures. Marzec, a resident of Santa Monica, has been in private practice since 1976 with an emphasis on corporate law, commercial transactions, and international business and transactions.

He received undergraduate and master’s degrees in business administration from USC and earned a law degree from the university’s California Law Center.

Ann Garry, professor of philosophy at Cal State Los Angeles, has been awarded the university’s Outstanding Professor Award for 1990-91.

Garry, recognized for her excellence in teaching, scholarship, research and professional achievement, joined the Cal State L.A. faculty in 1969. She is also a member of the California Council for the Humanities and the Society for Women in Philosophy.

She lives in Beverly Hills.

Natasha DeVeauuse of Los Angeles has been selected to participate in the Minority Access to Research Careers Honor Undergraduate Training Program.

One of four students chosen from Xavier University of Louisiana, DeVeauuse is a sophomore chemistry major. She graduated from Culver City High School in Culver City.

Robert Wright, professor of organization and management at Pepperdine University’s School of Business and Management, has been appointed to Portugal’s newly established Distinguished Chair of Leadership.

Wright, who was recently appointed to the U.S. Fulbright Assn. board of directors, served as a senior Fulbright Scholar in Portugal and also received the country’s highest scholarly honor, Professor Catedratico, as a visiting professor.

The position was created to bring business educators from other nations to teach, consult and develop the curriculum at Portugal’s School of Economics at the New University of Lisbon and University of Oporto.
