SEAL BEACH : City Seeks Increase in Parking Lot Fees

Share

The City Council this week asked City Manager Jerry L. Bankston to renegotiate a contract with Unocal oil company for use of its parking lot.

Unocal employees who travel on boats from the pier to oil platforms pay $1.25 a day to park in city lots, compared to a $6 fee charged to the public.

Councilwoman Marilyn Bruce Hastings said she would like to see the fee increased to generate revenue. Although the fee for Unocal to dock boats at the pier has been raised with inflation, the parking fees have not.
