University of Bridgeport Lays Off 100 Employees

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. —
The struggling University of Bridgeport has started laying off more than 100 employees, including faculty members, as part of a program aimed at saving $3 million a year.
Layoff notices went out last week to a wide range of employees, including secretaries, maintenance workers, administrators and some faculty, said Walter Wager, a spokesman for the private university.
