Candidates to Hold First TV Debate

The first televised debate of the 1992 presidential campaign will air on a tape-delayed basis today at 6:30 p.m. on KNBC Channel 4, KMIR Channel 36 and KNSD Channel 39.

The 90-minute debate, which is set to occur three hours earlier in Washington, will feature the six nationally prominent Democratic candidates: Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa, former Massachusetts Sen. Paul E. Tsongas, former California Gov. Edmund G. (Jerry) Brown Jr., Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton, Sen. Bob Kerrey of Nebraska and Virginia Gov. L. Douglas Wilder.

An analysis of the debate, featuring excerpts, will air locally on CNN at 5 p.m.
