Opera Pacific Official to Leave Position in Ohio

Opera Pacific general director David DiChiera will step down as general director of the Dayton (Ohio) Opera at the end of the 1992-93 season to devote more time to his duties here and at the Michigan Opera Theatre, where he also is general director.

DiChiera, who has been director of the Dayton Opera since 1981, said he will stay on there as an artistic adviser.

DiChiera has been general director of the Michigan Opera Theatre since 1971 and assumed his post at Opera Pacific in 1985. He was unavailable for further comment.
