FULLERTON : Teacher Heads Board of College District
John F. Kennedy High School teacher Leonard L. Lahtinen has been elected president of the North Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees.
Lahtinen, 57, replaces Nilane Lee, whose term expired. Lahtinen will head the board until November, 1992.
Lahtinen, who was first elected to the board in 1990, teaches government and has twice served as president of the Anaheim Secondary Teachers Assn. He was foreman pro tem of the Orange County Grand Jury from 1985 to 1986 and was appointed to the county Transportation Commission citizens committee in 1988.
Barbara Hammerman of Yorba Linda was reelected vice president of the board. She is managing executive director of the Grove Shakespeare Festival and administrative director of the Jewish Federation of Orange County community foundation.
