WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Gessig Leads USC Past CS Fullerton

Led by center Kim Gessig, USC defeated Cal State Fullerton, 76-53, in a women’s basketball game Saturday night at Fullerton.
The Trojans (3-2) took a 10-0 lead and shot 69% during the first half. They led, 47-26, at halftime.
Gessig scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds as she helped fill the void left when Lisa Leslie fouled out with 12:30 to play. Forward Joni Easterly had a team-high eight rebounds.
The Titans (5-3) pulled to 16-10 in the first half but never got closer despite outrebounding the Trojans, 38-36. Center Kisa Hughes led the Titans with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
