Warhol Estate Settled: Andy Warhol’s estate settled its malpractice and wrongful death lawsuit against New York City’s New York Hospital, where the pop art guru died in 1987. Lawyers for the estate said that they agreed to accept a “substantial” sum from the hospital but, under terms of the settlement, they couldn’t disclose the amount. In the suit, Warhol’s family claimed that poor care at the hospital killed the 58-year-old artist.
