COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Texas Duo Too Tough for UCSB

B.J. Tyler and Benford Williams combined for 50 points Sunday as Texas snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating UC Santa Barbara, 90-77, at Austin, Tex.
Tyler worked outside for 27 points and Williams scored most of his 23 from in close as the Longhorns improved to 5-4.
Lucius Davis scored 26 points and Michael Meyer added 20 for UCSB (5-2).
OTHER GAMES
Adam Keefe scored a career-high 36 points, including 10 of his team’s first 12, to lead Stanford to a 74-60 nonconference victory over turnover-plagued Virginia in a game that ended late Saturday night at Stanford. The Cardinal (5-0) led from start to finish against the Cavaliers (3-3).
Joe Rhett made an eight-foot jumper with 10 seconds left in the second overtime to lead South Carolina to a 71-69 victory over San Diego State in the Texaco Star tournament championship at San Diego. Rhett had 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead South Carolina (6-1) to its fifth victory in a row.
Dwayne Kelley scored 19 points and three teammates contributed 15 each as Detroit defeated Hawaii, 83-81 in the championship game of the Pre-Holiday Tournament at Honolulu.
