Orange County’s leading concert club, the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, is being enlarged by almost 100 seats. According to owner Gary Folgner, remodeling work to be completed in the next week or so will increase the club’s capacity from 380 to 476. Folgner said the 25% increase in capacity will allow the Coach House to make more lucrative offers that could pull in some top-drawing club acts which previously have bypassed the county. Folgner added that the Coach House’s stage will be widened by eight feet, and that speakers will be repositioned to accommodate a bigger room. The remodeling, which includes new carpeting, has been done over the past month without affecting the Coach House’s concert schedule.

KOCE Channel 50 has received a $27,000 rebate from the Southern California Edison Company for having saved energy with its new transmitter. The transmitter consumes about 30% less power than the station’s former transmitter, and provides about twice as much power, according to the station.
