Kaufman & Broad Buys Development: Kaufman & Broad Home Corp., one of the country’s largest developers, agreed to acquire a 118-home site development from developer Calprop Inc. in Sonoma County, Calif., for an undisclosed amount. Calprop said the deal calls for Kaufman to acquire the 26 acres as three parcels in Provence project in the city of Windsor. The parcels will be transferred over the next 18 months. Calprop said the deal is part of its slimming-down strategy, in response to the ongoing recession in California and the depressed market for new homes.
