OXNARD : Ex-Loan Officer Is Sentenced to Jail

Share

A former loan officer for the Oxnard Employees Federal Credit Union was sentenced to 4 1/2 months in jail and ordered to pay $8,089 in restitution for making a false entry about a personal loan, authorities said Monday.

Mary M. Watkins, 30, of Port Hueneme allegedly altered credit union records to show her personal car loan as paid, changed due dates for a second loan and falsely reported making a $1,000 interest payment.

A federal grand jury in Los Angeles indicted Watkins in June on four counts of bank fraud and embezzlement. She pleaded guilty to one count in August, and the remainder were dismissed.
