Eight Gang Suspects Arrested, Guns Seized
Pasadena police arrested eight people and seized 14 firearms early Thursday in a series of raids at the homes of suspected gang members in Pasadena and Altadena.
The suspects were booked on suspicion of violating a 1988 state law that makes it a crime to participate in certain street-gang activities. Deputy Dist. Atty. Mark S. Arnold said he will evaluate the police reports to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to file charges.
Lt. Van Anthony said the suspects are believed to be members of a gang that may be connected to two shooting deaths that occurred earlier this month in Pasadena. He said investigators will test the seized weapons to determine whether they were used in the slayings.
