SIMI VALLEY : 2 Men Arrested in Large Paint Theft

Share

Police on Sunday said they arrested two Simi Valley men on suspicion of fraudulently ordering large quantities of paint and having it delivered.

Daniel Thompson, 30, and David Davidson, 27, were arrested by officers about 12:30 p.m. Saturday on the 1800 block of Los Angeles Avenue as they supervised the unloading of a delivery truck from Dunn-Edwards Paints & Wallcoverings, police said.

The Simi Valley paint store had reported ongoing thefts of paint by people who were using an unspecified company name and payroll account. Thompson and Davidson called in an order of paint for about $2,700 and arranged a delivery location, police said.

Investigators watched the pair unload about half the paint before arresting them on suspicion of fraudulently obtaining property, police said. Both are being held at Ventura County Jail on $5,000 bail each and are scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
