Raymond Guest, 84, breeder of prize-winning horses and former U.S. ambassador to Ireland and Virginia state senator. Guest bred horses on his Virginia farms that won many of the world’s leading races, including the 1968 Preakness (Tom Rolfe) and the 1962 Epsom Derby in England (Larkspur). Guest was a member of the Virginia Senate from 1947-53 and was the U.S. ambassador to Ireland from 1965-69. In Fredericksburg, Va., on Tuesday.
