A 17-year-old Fillmore youth who fatally stabbed a Moorpark man in a dispute over a case of beer will be incarcerated at the California Youth Authority facility, a judge has ruled.

The youth, who attended Moorpark Community High School, pleaded guilty Dec. 17 to involuntary manslaughter, admitting that he stabbed Francisco Andrade, 25, during a fight Nov. 23, said Ventura County Deputy Dist. Atty. James D. Ellison.

Ellison said the youth must serve two years before he becomes eligible for release.

According to Ellison, Andrade was intoxicated when he confronted the youth shortly after being robbed of a case of beer in the parking lot of his condominium complex in the 500 block of North Spring Road.

Neighbors said they saw two men drive off in a car about the time of the robbery, but the youth was not identified as one of the men, Ellison said.

Andrade accused the youth of stealing the beer, and in a fight that ensued, the youth stabbed Andrade four times in his arms and chest, Ellison said.

The wound to Andrade’s chest area severed his aorta, causing him to bleed to death, Ellison said.
