Merit Pay for Teachers
Gov. Wilson is proposing a change in the system without addressing the complex and difficult questions of implementation. We are desperately in need of more schools and as a state we rank last in class size. Is this proposal for merit pay an attempt to avoid the responsibility of providing teachers with the resources necessary to properly educate students?
If accountability is good for teachers, it must also be good for politicians.
