A 19-year-old man, who was stabbed seven times at a gas station near Del Mar in what may have been a gang-related attack, was in critical condition, San Diego police said.
The stabbing occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of Via de la Valle, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. The victim was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, where he was in critical condition Monday.
The San Diego police gang unit is investigating the stabbing, and the victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of relatives, Sgt. Greg Drilling said.
Police believe there were three to five attackers.
