THOUSAND OAKS : Woman Killed in Crash Identified
A 43-year-old Los Angeles woman who killed herself by driving her car at high speed into the rear of a parked dump truck in Thousand Oaks has been identified as Cheryl Crockett, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.
Crockett, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident Monday, was pronounced dead at the scene on Lynn Road west of Lemonwood Street, Sgt. Keith Parks said.
A suicide note left by Crockett in her Newbury Park motel room indicated that she planned to kill herself in the 6 p.m. crash, Parks said. There were no skid marks at the scene, Parks added.
