TREATY--The anniversary of the 1847 signing of the Treaty of Cahuenga, which was responsible for the acquisition of California by the United States, will be observed today at the Campo de Cahuenga, 3919 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood, the treaty’s signing place. The program will be filled with traditional California Indian dancing and live music. Admission is free.

LAND PLANNING--The Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School Board will discuss how to use surplus school buildings and land to generate more money for the district. The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the board room at 12820 S. Pioneer Blvd. in Norwalk.

NUN RUN--The eighth annual Nun Run, including nuns in their habits, will be held Saturday at Mervyn Dymally Park, 3798 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Lynwood. The event consists of a one-kilometer lap course, and participants may run, walk or organize relay teams for pledges based on the number of laps completed in one hour. Proceeds will benefit children’s services at St. Francis Medical Center and other charities. Registration is at 7 a.m. The event begins at 8 a.m. Information: (310) 603-6194.
